# Distill.family

What twelve traditions share, and what each contributes uniquely.

Distill.family is a cross-tradition compass distilled from twelve of the world's wisdom traditions: Buddhism (Theravāda), Islam, Hinduism (Vedanta), Judaism, Christianity, Sikhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Jainism, Bahá'í, Zoroastrianism, and Shinto. The project preserves each tradition's distinctive contribution while making both shared themes and genuine disagreements visible.

## Standpoint

A pluralist reading — when 12 traditions independently converge across millennia on the same concern, that convergence is evidence. When they diverge on something each considers load-bearing, that divergence is evidence too. Tensions are held, not smoothed.

## Structure

- **12 traditions** — each with 14-18 N=3 principles (Shinto deliberately thinner at N=8)
- **26 shared themes** — organized by human concern, preserving how traditions ground each claim differently
- **13 held tensions** — genuine disagreements the traditions themselves regard as decisive
- **~32 preserved jewels** — untranslatable terms each tradition keeps in native form
