Batch role
These are the Quran's liturgical and creedal heart — its highest lived-centrality. Al-Fātiḥa opens every prayer; al-Ikhlāṣ is the purest statement of tawḥīd (said to equal a third of the Quran in the tradition). They state, in the fewest words, the whole frame: one merciful-and-just God, worship and dependence directed to Him alone, guidance sought on the straight path.

Step 5 — Internal tensions
None genuine. The pairing of "Merciful" with "day of reckoning" (C2/C3) is a deliberate both/and, the central balance of the whole Quran, not a contradiction.

- B1-P1 (tawḥīd): the claim (ultimate reality is one) loosely converges with monotheisms and some non-theisms, but the warrant — a single personal God who "begetteth not, and is not begotten" — is sharpened against Trinitarian Christianity and polytheism; this is a deliberate cross-tradition boundary, not a convergence.
